What Is Timebanking?timebank

Timebanking is a way to bring the community together, using the trade of skills and talents from local participants. They 'deposit' their time by offering their skills and knowlege to those in need and in return are able to earn and withdraw credits. For every hour you contribute you earn 1 time credit.

Why Timebank?
It has a wider appeal than traditional volunteering, it engages more people over a longer period of time! It fosters between different community interests, bringing together individuals, volunatry organisations and local businesses for the common good.

Our Support - Timebank are working in partnership with Warrington voluntary action who provide direct support services & specialist advice to third sector organisations across Warrington.

Give your CV a boost – we did a survey of some of the UK’s leading businesses and 73%* said they'd employ someone who's volunteered over someone who hasn't

Get back into work - It’s a great way to get a reference and fill gaps in your work experience. You can also try out different types of work to get a taster - which can really help you if you’re looking for a job or want to change direction.

Warrington U3A

Warrington U3A is part of a UK-wide movement that brings together people in their ‘third age’ to develop their interests and continue their learning in a friendly and informal environment. If you’re wondering what we mean by the third age, it isn’t defined by a particular age, but is a period in life after you have finished working full-time. We are one of over a thousand U3As across the UK, with thousands of interest groups between them and more than 425,000 members nationally.

It’s all voluntary. U3A members draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other. There are no exams to pass: it is all just for pleasure. Learning is for its own sake with enjoyment being the prime motive, not qualifications or awards. Warrington U3A has around 1200 members and is home to over sixty activity groups covering many different subjects, from American Square Dancing to Whist and everything in between.
