Attending Accident and Emergency

This practice has noticed an increase in patients attending A&E. A&E departments assess anhealthy_appled treat patients with serious injuries or illnesses. You should only visit A&E or call 999 for emergencies, such as:

  • Loss of consciousness.
  • Suspected stroke
  • Trauma/broken bones
  • Severe pain that is not relieved by simple analgesia.
  • Acute confused state.
  • Persistent, severe chest pain or breathing difficulties.

If you attend A & E and your condition is not felt to be urgent you will be sent away and asked to contact the surgery for an appointment. If you need to see a GP urgently please telephone the practice and make an urgent appointment, the practice does offer urgent slots for those patients who need to be seen on the same day.
