Attending Accident and Emergency
This practice has noticed an increase in patients attending A&E. A&E departments assess and treat patients with serious injuries or illnesses. You should only visit A&E or call 999 for emergencies, such as:
- Loss of consciousness.
- Suspected stroke
- Trauma/broken bones
- Severe pain that is not relieved by simple analgesia.
- Acute confused state.
- Persistent, severe chest pain or breathing difficulties.
If you attend A & E and your condition is not felt to be urgent you will be sent away and asked to contact the surgery for an appointment. If you need to see a GP urgently please telephone the practice and make an urgent appointment, the practice does offer urgent slots for those patients who need to be seen on the same day.
