As from the 19th December we are temporarily closing our practice list until 19th June 2019 when we will review our position.

Unfortunately, this means we will not be registering any new patients during this time unless you are direct family member of an existing patient who are currently registered with us live in the same household.

For those patients that sit outside this criteria please go to the NHS website: www.nhs.uk where you will be able to find other practices in the local area.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and be assured we have not taken this decision lightly.

This closure will allow us to review our current staffing resource against patient demand so we may continue to provide continuity of care to our patients in the future.

Nurse appointments

We have a very talented and experienced nursing team at the practice, who can deal with a wide range of conditions and procedures. 

We have nurses who specialise in asthma and diabetes management, and childhood vaccinations. We also have a healthcare assistant who performs a lot of our tests for patients with chronic lung conditions, as well as new patient checks and blood pressure checks. 

Below is a list of examples of conditions that our nurses can treat and manage, and procedures they can perform. This list, however, is not exhaustive, and our reception team will be able to help advise you whether your query might be suitable for a nurse. It is often much quicker to get an appointment to see a nurse, but they are still able to access the support of a GP if they feel you may need further assessment.

  • Injections (B12, contraception, etc.)
  • Cervical smears
  • Contraception advice
  • Hearing checks
  • Weight checks and diet advice
  • Blood pressure checks and annual reviews
  • Coil checks
  • Asthma reviews
  • COPD reviews
  • Travel vaccinations
  • NHS health checks
  • Flu vaccinations
  • New patient checks

Minor illness 

Our nurses can diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of minor illness conditions, including: 

  • Sore throat/tonsillitis
  • Thrush
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Hayfever
  • Minor injuries
  • Rashes
  • Sprains/strains/bruises/falls
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Vaginal discharge 
  • Verrucas
