Urgent or life-threatening medical concerns

If you are worried about an urgent or life-threatening medical symptom (chest pain with nausea/vomiting and/or sweating, difficulty breathing, collapse with loss of consciousness, etc.), you should call 999 immediately.

For possible broken bones and minor wounds, the Urgent Care Centre is open every day from 7am until 7pm (Urgent Care Centre, Seaton House, London Road, Nottingham, NG2 4LA - tel 0115 883 8500).

Same-day assessment clinic

If you feel you need to be seen urgently on the same day we offer an assessment clinic, whereby you call the practice and are asked some general questions about your problem by our reception team. You will then be added to the clinician's list. A clinician will call you back within 4 hours to discuss your problem and advise if you need an appointment or if another method of management would be suitable (e.g. self-care, visiting the pharmacy). If the clinician feels you need an appointment, one will be booked for you either on the same day or within a few days, whichever the clinician feels most appropriate.

To be added to the urgent assessment clinic, you need to call the surgery on 0115 9505907 between 8.30am and 10.30am every day for morning appointments, or between 1.30pm and 2.30pm for afternoon appointments.  Please bear with us as we can be very busy at these times - we do answer all calls, but there may be a short wait.

Please note that requests for sick notes/medical certificates and prescriptions are not classed as urgent and will not be put on the assessment list. If you need to request a sick note, you will need to contact the reception team who will send you a questionnaire by text for you to complete. Following completion of this, one of the GPs will review your request and get back to you within 3 working days. If you need a prescription, you will need to come to the practice and put a request in writing, contact your pharmacy and ask them to put in a request on your behalf, or set up the NHS App so that you can request prescriptions electronically.
