From 1st July we are running extra clinics outside of our normal working hours.

Between 7.30am and 8am the practice building will be open only for patients with pre-booked appointments in the above clinics. We will not be carrying out any other routine duties such as answering the telephone, giving out prescriptions or making appointments.

If you have a pre – booked appointment in one of the above clinics please note you will have to ring the bell and the receptionist will let you in. If you need to cancel the appointment you would have to contact the practice the day before or use the MYGP app.

Telephone Consultations or Video Consultation

If you would like a telephone or video consultation with either the doctor or the nurse please ask the receptionist. Give her your telephone number and the doctor/nurse will ring you back or make contact with you to arrange a video call. We are not able to give you a specific time that the doctor/nurse will call you back. You may still be asked to attend the surgery if the doctor thinks it necessary.

Chaperones

During your appointment with a doctor or nurse you are welcome to ask for a chaperone, this may be one of the nursing team but if they are unavailable a member of the reception staff can chaperone with your agreement. All staff have relevant training and checks to carry out this service.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you do not ring to cancel or cancel within 10 minutes of your appointment time the surgery may make a note of this non-attendance in your record. You can now also cancel pre-booked appointments via the MyGP App.  Please ask the receptionist for details.

Care Navigation

Our reception team are here to help you access the most appropriate service/professional for your needs within a reasonable timeframe.

When our receptionist speaks with you, they will ask for a brief description of your problem, please don’t take offence. The receptionists are not prying, they are trained to ask and direct to the most appropriate services, which may be more appropriate than a GP appointment.

We have direct access to the following service –

Mental Health Practitioners

First Contact Physiotherapists

In house Pharmacist

Practice Nursing team

Primary Care Network GPs (evening and weekends)

Social Prescribers

District Nurses

Appointments – extended hours

Our PCN (Primary Care Network) is now offering a wide range of evening and weekend appointments at Little Hulton Health Centre. You can book an appointment with a GP, HCA, pharmacist or specific COVID vaccination clinics. Please speak to a practice receptionist if you wish to book an appointment in our extended hours clinics.

Face to Face appointments

From the beginning of November 2022 we have a returned to Face to Face (F2F) appointments as the default, unless a telephone or video call is requested by a patient.

We kindly ask that if you have any COVID related symptoms you ring the practice and speak to a receptionist for guidance before attending for any F2F appointment.

You will still be asked to wear a face covering during a consultation if you have respiratory symptoms, so where possible, please bring your own.

Thank you

Appointments

We offer a mixture of on the day telephone appointments and pre-bookable telephone appointments with a GP.  We try to work at least 4 weeks ahead with our appointment book, however that is not always possible during the current pandemic and a proportion of our pre-bookable appointments are available via the online service.

We have practice pharmacist who normally works 4 days per week who offers telephone consultations should you have a medication query.

Our nurses and health care assistant continue to offer face to face and telephone appointments as appropriate.

Social Media

We are aware of the popular nature of social media and the benefits behind the many platforms available.

We would like to remind patients of the importance of remaining safe while using social media platforms by protecting your information and not sharing information with unknown sources. This is particularly relevant for parents/guardians with children who use social media, we would strongly encourage that children are supervised at all times when using any sort of social media.

We would also encourage patients to refrain from using social media as a place to air their grievances regarding the practice and to raise issues directly with the practice. This enables us as a practice to be more aware of issues raised by patients and respond effectively regarding actions taken. This can be done anonymously via the suggestions and comments slip.

Please note if we are made aware of any comments made on social media regarding the practice that directly/indirectly identifies a member of staff and are deemed to be factually incorrect or defamatory, the practice will take action to have these posts removed and may seek legal advice.

We thank you for your co-operation.
