Urgent on the Day – An urgent surgery is available every morning from 08:00 and every afternoon. Appointments for the afternoon surgery are bookable from 13:30.  Please note that these appointments are for urgent problems that cannot wait only and may be with one of our highly-skilled Prescribing nurses or with a GP. In order to ensure that you are being seen by the appropriate clinician you will asked for a brief indication of the need for the appointment e.g. urinary problems etc. You will not be be required to go into any further detail. Please be reassured that all our staff are fully trained in confidentiality. Please note these appointments are available to be booked though patient partner (automatic phone system) or online from 7:00.

PLEASE NOTE:  IF YOU WISH TO SEE A DOCTOR OF YOUR CHOICE PLEASE TELL THE RECEPTIONIST - WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ASSIST BUT AT BUSY TIMES YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR MORE. HOWEVER, URGENT CASES CAN USUALLY BE SEEN THE SAME DAY BUT NOT NECESSARILY WITH THE DOCTOR OF YOUR CHOICE.

Nurse Practitioners

The Nurse Practitioners run minor illness clinics and you may be offered an appointment in one of these clinics. These Nurses are able to prescribe if appropriate.

Doctors' appointments are primarily for new problems and continuing reviews are carried out by our nurses. In order that you are given an appointment for the appropriate clinic the receptionist may ask you some basic questions. The information you give is treated in the strictest confidence.

Cancellations

Please be punctual for your appointment – there is no guarantee that you will be seen if you are late. We are trying to run the clinics on time. Seeing patients who are running late causes a knock on effect to the patients who have appointments after yours.

Unfortunately many patients fail to keep their arranged appointments.  If you are unable to attend, please contact us to cancel so that the appointment is not wasted.

Since the implementation of the new MJOG service, appointments can be cancelled by responding CANCEL to the appointment reminder SMS you receive. If you would like to OPT OUT of the SMS service please let reception know.
