Healthy Minds is your local IAPT service, IAPT stands for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies. All of us at some point feel low, anxious, worried or depressed. It is completely normal but it can also start to impact what we do and who we are and when we reach that point it is important to get help to prevent these feelings getting worse. We understand that seeking support is a big step. There are many situations in a person’s life which may cause stress, anxiety, low mood or depression. Healthy minds can provide you with support and information that will help you feel yourself again.
NHS Healthy Minds teams cover Herefordshire and Worcestershire and provide a range of free, confidential support. This includes:
New local Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams have launched in Herefordshire and Worcestershire as part of a national pilot to improve community mental health care.
The teams are made up of specialist mental health practitioners, local GPs and representatives from the voluntary and community sector and they will be adopting a new approach to supporting people with complex mental health difficulties outside of a hospital or mental health unit.
This service aim is to ensure that you are supported by the right person, in the right place, at the right time.
They offer local based teams that work collaboratively with other organisations to meet your individual needs.

Worcestershire have secured funding to transform your local mental health services in partnership with your GP, local voluntary services and mental health trust. We have worked to remove ‘thresholds’, and improve accessibility from the point of contact with your GP.
The service is tailored to your individual needs, which may include some of the following options:
- Interventions that are based on National best practice guidance.
- Guided Signposting
- Support
- Access to Groups
- Specialist Mental Health practitioners.
How:
You and your GP agree and book a suitable appointment with your local mental health team.
You will receive a bookings confirmation letter, which provides more detail on what to expect at your initial contact.
During your initial contact a plan of care is agreed and shared with you.
