Some hospital procedures, operations and clinics are continuing to take place in Cornwall. Hospitals are making their own local arrangements which may change over time. You should not attend any appointment if you are self-isolating due to COVID-19 or have been informed by the hospital not to attend.
You should continue with ongoing treatments for all your medical conditions and attend any hospital or GP appointments that are requested. Routine care is being carried out, where possible, through phone calls or video links so you will not be asked to attend unless absolutely necessary.
Hospitals are safer than your own home if you are in need of emergency care. Arrangements are in place to protect patients who are being seen for conditions other than COVID-19 to ensure they are safe
If you need medical help you should still contact your GP practice, use NHS 111 online or call 111. If you are told to go to hospital, it is important that you go to hospital
Patient Hotline at RCHT
A hotline and email address has been set up to support non-COVID-19 patients who have already been referred to a consultant and are experiencing a worsening of their symptoms whilst their hospital appointment/operation is on hold. The details will be taken by a call handler and escalated to an appropriate speciality clinician for advice and guidance. Patients with worsening symptoms should call the hotline on 0800 035 7777 or email rcht.cornwall.patienthotline@nhs.net.
This hotline is not for calls relating to individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms wanting advice as these should be directed through to NHS 111.
