SUNNYSIDE SURGERY - OPEN FOR BUSINESS DURING COVID-19 Pandemic
If you or someone you know has a life-threatening injury or illness, such as severe chest pain, bleeding, loss of consciousness or signs of a stroke, call 999 or go to your nearest accident and emergency department.
GP practices in Cornwall remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you need to see your GP, for example for back pain, arthritis or asthma, contact Sunnyside Surgery via by phone or via eConsult platform on the website . We can now offer video consultations too if appropriate.
We are continuing to run the Childhood immunisation program. It’s really important to attend for immunisations when your child has been invited; they are the single most important way to protect you or your child from disease. Vaccinating children helps prevent the development of deadly or incurable viruses and diseases such as meningitis, measles and pneumonia.
Delaying vaccinations could leave you and your child vulnerable to serious illnesses.
Book your appointment with Reception on 01736 363340 for immunisations as planned, staff will ensure that it is safe for you to attend.
Routine shingles and pneumococcal vaccinations are also being offered to eligible patients via letter invitation. Please call 01736 363340 and these will be arranged for you.
The national cervical screening programme is continuing is usual. If you have been asked to make an appointment for cervical screening, don’t put it off, it’s one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer.
Some hospital procedures, operations and clinics are continuing to take place in Cornwall. Hospitals are making their own local arrangements which may change over time. You should not attend any appointment if you are self-isolating due to COVID-19 or have been informed by the hospital not to attend.
You should continue with ongoing treatments for all your medical conditions and attend any hospital or GP appointments that are requested. Routine care is being carried out, where possible, through phone calls or video links so you will not be asked to attend unless absolutely necessary.
Hospitals are safer than your own home if you are in need of emergency care. Arrangements are in place to protect patients who are being seen for conditions other than COVID-19 to ensure they are safe
If you need medical help you should still contact your GP practice, use NHS 111 online or call 111. If you are told to go to hospital, it is important that you go to hospital
Patient Hotline at RCHT
A hotline and email address has been set up to support patients who have already been referred to a consultant. The aim of the hotline is to avoid patients having to return to their GP to raise their concerns about their condition or symptoms with a view to expediting care and to help keep patients safe whilst waiting for treatment as all enquiries and concerns will be assessed by a clinician . Enquiries are then directed to the appropriate speciality for clinical review and appropriate action. Patients with worsening symptoms should call the hotline on 0800 035 7777 or email rcht.cornwall.patienthotline@nhs.net.
This hotline is only for patients who are under the care of RCHT.
