National Restrictions 

We would like to reassure our patients that as the country starts to slowly emerge from lockdown Sunnyside continues to be here for all your healthcare needs during these challenging and often worrying times.

If you require an appointment or home visit with a GP or Acute Illness Clinician these appointments will always be telephone triaged in the first instance and if necessary you will then be offered a face to face appointment at the surgery.  The clinicians do also have access to video consultations if appropriate.  Our trained reception team will ask you for some information about the reason for your call.  This information has been requested by the GPs so the initial triage phone call is signposted to the most appropriate member of the clinical team.  Please be assured that all of your information is confidential.

Nurse and HCA appointments for childhood vaccinations, urgent blood tests, INR tests, urgent BP checks, smear tests, postnatal checks, urgent dressings etc are bookable.   annual chronic disease checks for asthma, CHD, COPD, Diabetes are also continuing  where possible these will telephone consultations though rest assured you will be offered a face to face appointment if necessary.

To keep patients and staff safe you will be seen by clinicians wearing full PPE and the consultation room chair, desks and couches are cleaned between patients. Staff temperatures are check on arrival at work.   Waiting room chairs are spaced appropriately and cleaned down periodically throughout the day.  All non-clinical and admin staff wear face masks when moving around the building and work stations are cleaned down regularly.  

We have a dedicated room with a separate entrance and exit to see patients who require healthcare and may have coronavirus symptoms.

What you can do to help:-

1.  Please arrive only a few minutes before your appointment time so we can avoid large numbers of patients in the waiting room.  If you arrive too early you maybe asked to wait outside or in your car.

2.  Please put on your face covering BEFORE entering the building.

3.  Use the hand sanitising stations on arrival.

4.  PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 OR HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY NHS TRACK AND TRACE AND BEEN ASKED TO SELF-ISOLATE.    If you require access to healthcare in these circumstances phone the surgery and the appropriate arrangements will be made.

5.  Email or post all prescription requests.  Please nominate a pharmacy for your prescription to be sent to so you don't have to collect from the Practice.
