NHS Services

Advice

We offer confidential help and advice on all medications and minor ailments.

Chlamydia Testing

We are able to offer testing kits for anyone over the age of 16 years. This is a discreet service and all discussions can take place in our private consultation room at your request.

Medication Use Review

Our Pharmacists are all qualified to offer this free review to any patient/customer who requests one. Please call in and either book and appointment or ask to see a Pharmacist who will try and see you straight away if that is more convenient.

The review will be as thorough as you require. You will be able to discuss each of your medications with the Pharmacist and they will be able to help you with any concerns or queries you may have. It may be that you are not able to use an inhaler correctly for your asthma or maybe you are concerned about side-effects of one of your medications. If the Pharmacist considers it necessary, any serious concerns regarding your medication will then be passed onto your Doctor.

New Medicine Service

This is a brand new service and is available to anyone who has been prescribed any new medication. This again, is a completely free service and we feel that it should help you to get the most out of your medication and allows you to understand about your condition. If you are recently out of hospital and have had some new medication added to your repeats please feel that you can call in Bridge Cottage Pharmacy at any time to discuss this with our team of Pharmacists. This is especially relevant to those people with Asthma, Diabetes or any Heart Disease.

Return of Unwanted Medication

If any of your regular tablets/medicines are stopped by your Doctor and you have an excess supply at home, these can be returned to the Pharmacy on any day. The Pharmacy staff will then ensure these unwanted medications are sent safely away to be incinerated.

Smoking Cessation

If you are considering giving up smoking please book an appointment with our qualified cessation staff. They will offer support and guidance throughout the weeks that you need to quit altogether. They can ensure that prescriptions are issued and dispensed on your behalf with your Doctors approval. This could be issued later on the same day if required. This is also a completely free service and our qualified staff has already had success with previous long-term smokers.
