Supervision Conference UK

Having postponed and then cancelled the most recent iteration of the Supervision Conference, the team at Severn Talking Therapy has decided to close this particular chapter and cancel the conference going forward in the future.

Apart  from the external and extraordinary circumstances this year, it has been harder for the team to organise the conference and guarantee the numbers. Perhaps there is a future for a gathering together, discuss supervision and to network in a collegial atmosphere but not for Severn Talking Therapy in this format.

We have some lovely memories and feedback from the conferences and hugely appreciate all the support we have been fortunate to have from you over the years. You can read some of the comments below.

Severn Talking Therapy will continue with our Relational Diploma in Supervision and offering workshops, webinars and seminars on topics close to our hearts.

With very best wishes from

Annie, Catherine, Karl & Sheila

“I’m really saddened to hear that the supervision conferences will not be going ahead. I so enjoyed the inaugural one and enjoyed presenting a clay workshop then too. Naturally you will have your reasons but this pandemic is really pushing into shifting our own and organisational axes.” Lynne

“Thank you for continuing the conference the way you have.

Thank you also for publishing some of the highlight presentations on your website - a great reminder of the inspiration arising from different presentations and discussions at the conference over the years.

Sad to see you end, and look forward to seeing what arises in the space you leave behind.” Vicki

“I can really understand, in the present context, why you have come to this difficult decision, but hope, as you say, that other opportunities arise for supervisors to gather, learn together and share good practice. I shall always treasure the experience of being in a room with about 100 other supervisors. Being amongst all that wisdom, experience, warmth and humanity was special and unforgettable. The conferences were a highlight in the year and were both stimulating, challenging and enjoyable. Thanks to you and all the team for giving me and others this experience.” Jamie

“I am sad that you have decided not to continue holding a Supervision Conference in the future.

I attended two in recent years which I found very interesting and supportive of my supervision practice.” Amanda

“I'm obviously disappointed it's not happening but completely understand your reasons and appreciate the clear way you've made your decision known.

I have huge appreciation for the work you've put into the previous conferences, so thank you for that, and I hope you're proud of what you achieved.” Jim

“I only came to one conference, 2018 in Birmingham, along with some acupuncture supervision/mentoring colleagues, and was really looking forward to returning in 2020.

I’m hoping that you will be tempted at some point to organise more events. To me, the need at the moment for supervision/mentoring and support for supervisors seems greater that it’s ever been.” Supi

“What a sea change and what a loss - although at same time you have already made a very important contribution.” Annie
