(03/03/2021) COVID VACCINATIONS
Covid-19 vaccinations are being delivered through a range of NHS services and our practice population will be invited based on a nationally set priority list. Please do not contact the surgery - Patients are being contacted by our local Federation (DGS Health) who are providing the service to Surgeries in the Swanley and Rural area.
Clinics are being held at The Alexandra Suite, St Mary's Road, Swanley.
The Federation will contact patients to invite them for their two vaccinations.
Our phone lines are extremely busy and we would appreciate your help in freeing up the phone lines so patients can call regarding other Health matters.
THANK YOU

Prime Minister's announcementThe government announced yesterday (08/02/2021) that anyone aged 70 and over or on the Shielded Patients List (because they are clinically extremely vulnerable) who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid should contact the NHS to arrange a jab. People are being encouraged to use the National Booking System or if they can’t book online to call 119. |

Covid-19 vaccine
Covid-19 vaccinations will be provided through a range of local NHS services. The vaccines will be available to everyone over 18 years old. People will be invited for vaccination based on a nationally set priority list. The elderly and most at risk from Covid-19 will be vaccinated first
We are not currently providing Covid-19 vaccines. We will update this page when more information about local vaccine services is confirmed.
You do not need to contact the surgery until you receive a letter, text or phone call about getting the Covid-19 vaccines. Our phone lines are very busy and we would appreciate your support to keep phone lines open for people needing to make appointments for other health matters.
The vaccination programme will take several months to work through everyone, so it could be some time before you are contacted.
Please help protect yourself, friends and loved ones by getting vaccinated when you are invited.

GP APPOINTMENTS
If you have an appointment already booked with a GP please do NOT attend the surgery. A GP will phone you on the morning/afternoon of your scheduled appointment to discuss your problem. This may not be at the exact time your appointment was scheduled for so please stay contactable. If a face to face meeting is still required, the GP will arrange this with you.
NURSE/HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT APPOINTMENTS
We are restricting face to face appointments with our nurses/HCAs to those with urgent need. We will be contacting you if we need to cancel your appointment. If you have booked an appointment for a chronic disease review (i.e. diabetes, COPD, asthma) our nurses will try and carry out this review by phone.
DISPENSARY SERVICES
Prescriptions will be issued for 1 month at a time .
This is in response to new guidance from NHS England. Issuing prescriptions for longer periods of time has led to supply problems for some essential medications e.g. inhalers. This is putting some patients at risk so please DO NOT ask for longer supplies- we will not issue them.
Due to increased pressure on the dispensary please allow 3 working days before collecting your medication. If you are a non dispensing patient who normally collects their paper prescriptions from the surgery please try not to come to the surgery. We can send your prescription directly to your chosen pharmacy. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this. We can also post your prescription to you if you enclose a SAE (Stamped Addressed Envelope). Please ensure you allow extra time for postal delays.
Abuse to Staff
Sadly our staff are experiencing increasing levels of abuse from patients.
We understand that these are stressful times, but such abuse is unacceptable.
The staff are working extremely hard and are putting themselves at risk in order to maintain a service to our patients.
Any patient who is abusive to our staff will be removed from our list immediately, regardless of their circumstances.
Please bear in mind that the health system is under great pressure at the moment. We would be grateful if all routine enquiries could be kept to a minimum until the situation improves.
Many thanks for your co-operation during this difficult time.
