COVID-19 Update July 2021

Our staff will continue to wear PPE despite the latest government guidelines. We ask that our patients continue to wear face-masks when attending the surgery in order to protect themselves and our staff.

COVID Vaccine Update 2 February 2021

The vaccination campaign is well underway in Weymouth and Portland through our local vaccination site, which is run by all practice in Weymouth and Portland. We are following the JCVI guidance on who to invite. These are the current first three priority groups:

  1. Residents in care homes for older adults and their carers
  2. 80-year-olds and over and frontline health and social care workers
  3. 75-year-olds and overs

After this, we will move to group 4, which is:

    4. 70-year-olds and over, and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals (those patients who are shielded)

Vaccinations are happening as quickly as vaccines are received. Subject to supply, we are well on the way to vaccinating the first 4 priority groups in line with government timescales.

Patients will be invited to attend when it is their turn, usually via telephone call from our central COVID admin team. In the near future,  we are hoping to be able to offer eligible patients the ability to book an appointment via responding to a text message invite.

Vaccinations have taken place in all elderly care homes in Weymouth and Portland.

Housebound patients, in the current eligible groups, are now being vaccinated.

You will be contacted when it is your turn to receive the vaccine and therefore we ask that you refrain from contacting the surgery as the appointments will be delivered in the above order, when we have each delivery.

We have systems in place to ensure that the vaccination is offered to all patients.

Thank you for your understanding.
