Solent GP Surgery operates across 3 sites:

Adelaide - based at the Adelaide Health Centre, SO16 4XE, open Monday - Saturday 8:00 - 20:00
Nicholstown - based in the Royal South Hants Hospital, SO14 0YG, open Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:30
Portswood - based on Belmont Road, SO17 2GD, open Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:30

Evening and Weekend Appointments

If you are registered with a GP practice in Southampton, you can now get an appointment with a doctor or nurse from 8am to 8pm every weekday (including bank holidays), 8am to 4pm on Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sunday. This appointment will either be at your GP practice or at one of the six hubs throughout the city.

These appointment slots are for a variety of different appointments, and can be booked through your GP practice when they are open or by phoning NHS 111 if your practice is closed. NHS 111 is free to phone and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Out of Hours

Out of hours is the time between 8:00pm and 8:00am, when the Surgery is closed. You will see that there are many ways of getting the right help and advice.

Ring 111 between the hours of 8:00pm and 8.00am (including weekends). You call is triaged to a doctor is most cases and there are GP appointments available at the Royal South Hants if the triaging doctor feels you need to be seen.

The local Out of Hours service is contracted by Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group http://www.southamptoncityccg.nhs.uk/ and you can write to them at: Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS Commissioning HQ, Oakley Road, Southampton SO16 4GX.

Urgent Treatment Centre (Southampton)

Urgent Treatment Centres are for non-emergency injuries and illnesses. Getting treated at an UTC helps free up Southampton’s Emergency Department to deal with treatment for those who need it the most. Do not call first, just turn up in person for physical injuries such as cuts, grazes, sprains and small fractures - you do not need an appointment and more often than not you may be treated far quicker than going to A&E.

Weekends and Bank Holidays: 8.00am - 10.00pm
