Blood Tests

The surgery has phlebotomy services Monday to Friday, 8.30 am until 12.00 noon.

Blood tests are arranged by appointment with one of our Phlebotomists or Health Care Assistant. These can only be performed at the request of one of the doctors.

Fasting blood tests are not often required, make sure you tell the receptionist at the time of booking your appointment if this is so. To fast correctly you must not eat for 14 hours before the test and you are only allowed water to drink. 

Test Results

Please allow three working days for your test results to come back from the hospital unless your doctor has advised otherwise. 

Please note that X-ray results take a little longer.

Results will only be given by clinical staff.

If the result is complicated, or if the doctor wants to see you about the result, we will offer you an appointment.

We will only give results to the person who has had the test.
