Tests & Results

Laboratory specimens are collected daily in the early afternoon and we ask therefore that you bring your specimens to the surgery before 12.30pm. Please be aware that routine test results and x-rays may take up to 7 days.

Cervical smear results take up to 12 weeks and you will be informed of these by letter.

When telephoning for a test or X-ray result we ask that this is done between 10.30 and 2.00pm when our lines are less busy. Please note that the results will be given out by non-clinical staff who may not be able to interpret what the results mean. Please reflect on any advice you were given by your doctor when the test was arranged, they may wish to review you even if the test result is normal.
