CHAPERONES

All patients may have a chaperone present for any consultations, examination or procedure where they feel one is required.  If you would like a formal chaperone to be present, where possible, please request this when booking the appointment.

NURSING SERVICES

We have two practice nurses and a healthcare assistant. Our nursing team are available by appointment for a wide range of services - more information can be found on our 'nursing appointments' page here.

PRACTICE PHARMACIST

We now have a pharmacist at the practice who performs the majority of our patients' medication reviews. Appointments can be booked in advance if you know you are due for a medication review in the near future. All patients need to have up to date medication reviews in order to check that their management plans are as efficient as possible, and also to ensure that there is no delay in the issuing of prescriptions when requests are put in.

PHLEBOTOMY CLINICS

(updated 03/11/22)

Phlebotomy is not a part of the core GP contract, and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board commission the phlebotomy service for Wellspring Surgery patients.

From 1st April 2022 the ICB have been unable to secure a provider for a phlebotomy service at St Anns Valley Centre. As of November 2022, patients will be required to book an appointment at the NCGPA GP+ clinic on Angel Row in the city centre. Appointments can be booked by calling the practice number (0115 9505907). Urgent blood tests can be done at the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, but only where advised by a GP - patients should not attend the hospital for routine blood tests as they will be refused.

We continue to work with the ICB and request that the ICB commission a local phlebotomy service for our patients, with this being delivered at the St Anns Valley Centre.

If you have any issues/concerns about the commissioning of the phlebotomy service, please contact the ICB patient advice and complaints using the details below:

You may also wish to contact your local councillor/MP (contact details below) to highlight the need for a local phlebotomy service in St Anns:

Thank you for your support.
