Chronic Disease Clinics
The surgery runs a variety of clinics to help improve the control of diseases such as asthma, high blood pressure and diabetes.
Asthma Clinic
Patients with asthma who use inhalers can benefit from having a check of their condition. They will be shown how to monitor their disease and ensure that they are using their inhaler device properly. They can also be shown what to do in case of viral infections, colds or other conditions, which can worsen asthma.
High Blood Pressure
Patients with high blood pressure often need treatment for life to prevent the damaging effects on the blood vessels, and to prevent problems such as heart disease and stroke. If you are on tablets and your blood pressure has been stabilised then you should be seeing the nurse twice yearly for monitoring. Why not make an appointment with the nurse and have your blood pressure checked if this has not been done recently?
