When We Are Closed

The surgery belongs to a co-operative of doctors called ‘Dalriada Doctors’, which offers an emergency service when the surgery is closed. It should only be used for genuine emergencies and not for problems that can be dealt with the following day, eg prescription requests.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Staff Training

The practice is normally closed on dedicated Wednesday afternoon for staff training. The Board may request closure on other dates to facilitate essential training.

At the Old School Surgery in Greenisland the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.  Old School Surgery has been in existence since 1947. We are currently a six person limited, fully computerised partnership, operating from purpose-built premises.

We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.
