Out of Hours

If you require a home visit or medical advice outside of the normal office hours, your call will be taken by the NHS 24.

NHS 24 can be contacted on their new freephone number 111.  The nurses will take the details of your call and determine whether an ambulance, the GP on call, or advice is the most appropriate way to deal with the problem.

The nurses answering the phone will be using computer-aided advice systems. Please be patient if you are asked a lot of questions, since this is only being done to improve the quality of service.

Their website is www.nhs24.com.
