Social Media reports of local Measles outbreaks:
We have recently received enquries about reports of local measles outbreaks and have been asked by concerned parents, whether children should receive their measles vaccinations earlier than at the recommended ages.
We have contacted the North West Central Health Protection Team, for further information and advice and have been informed that, whilst there have been measles outbreaks in many parts of London, including Barnet, Camden, and Hackney, in Haringey outbreaks have only been sporadic, so at this point in time, no change is advised to the routine childhood vaccination programme.
In the event of an outbreak at a school or nursery, all staff and parents will receive a letter from the HPT with appropriate advice and should there be any change to the vaccination programme, you will be informed. 01/05/2019

Named Accountable GP for all Patients
Building on commitments to deliver more personalised care it is a national requirement for all patients to be allocated a named accountable GP with effect from 1 April 2015.
The named accountable GP will take lead responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services and ensure they are delivered to each of their patients where required (based on the clinical judgement of the named accountable GP).
Newly registered patients will be allocated a named GP when they register.
This arrangement does not alter your ability to book an appointment and see any of the Vale Practice clinical team.
Friends and Family Test
Your views are important to us! Please let us have your feedback on the service we provide to you.
From December 2014 patients will be given the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback on whether they would recommend their GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment. It is an important opportunity for patients to provide feedback on the care and treatment they receive and to help improve services.

Haringey Health Connected - West Haringey GP Federation
We are pleased to announce the Vale Practice’s involvement in a local GP practice federation of West Haringey. All 13 local practices, covering a patient population of 91,500 people have agreed to work together to offer enhanced services for our patients that we would not be able to deliver individually. It is a non-profit venture aimed at improving patient care, consistency and access. Our first pilot project is a Saturday clinic offering pre-booked appointments for routine issues, staffed by GPs from the participating practices. It is a small initial project with a limited number of appointments but it has the potential to pave the way for larger future projects. Federated working in this way is strongly encouraged by NHS England and Haringey CCG and our hope is that it will provide a safeguard for local general practice and mean we can continue to offer the high quality service that we currently strive for, whilst also looking at ways to further improve our service.
Summary Care Records
The NHS is changing how patient information is stored and shared in England to provide better care for patients. The Summary Care Records (SCR) provide healthcare staff treating patients in an emergency or out-of-hours with faster access to key clinical information about you.
This computerised information will be available to authorised healthcare staff providing you care anywhere in England.
The record will contain three important pieces of information about you: medications you are taking, allergies you may have; and any bad reactions to medicines you have had in the past. This means that if you are admitted to a healthcare setting in an emergency situation clinical staff will be able to gain immediate access to important information about your health.
If you are happy for information about your health to be stored in this way you do not have to do anything; implied consent is assumed.
However, if you wish to opt out of the SCR you must complete an opt-out form and deliver this to the surgery. Opt-out forms are available at our reception.
