Why are GP Practices still working differently

Access Report
February 01/02/2024 - 29/02/2024
February was an extremely busy month for our practice. However, we continue to work exceptionally hard to provide our patients with a safe, sensitive and equitable service, making the most of the resources and systems that we currently have.
We appreciate all your continued support. Thank you.

**20/11/2023**

There are many common illnesses that you may not need to see your GP for. Self-help advice can be found at NHS Inform or your local pharmacy. Your local pharmacist, via the pharmacy first service, can also prescribe medication that can help while you are feeling unwell. Below is a guideline which outlines the expected duration of common illnesses.

**Important Information**
Patients Attending Private Hospitals and Clinics

Due to long waiting times for investigations, specialist appointments and operations within the NHS, some patients may decide to attend private hospitals and clinics either locally or abroad.

If you are considering using a private health care provider, either through self-funding or private health insurance, please note that we would not be in a position to recommend any specific specialist.

We strongly advise you to do some thorough research before making your decision to determine whether the specialist is safe and certified to carry out the treatment required. We would also suggest you fully discuss with the provider your expectation of treatment and what follow-up will be offered from them.

Please be aware that St Luke’s Medical Practice is contracted to provide health services in line with our General Medical Services contract on behalf of NHS Lanarkshire, and is not under any obligation to follow any requests from private health care providers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

**Wednesday 1st November**
Triage
From Wednesday the 1st of November we have new timings for our triage. Please submit all triage requests between 8am and 11am Monday to Friday.
Monday - Thursday our online triage form is open, Friday is telephone triage only.
