New Patient Registration

You can register with the practice online or by completing a registration form available below or from our reception.   

Before filling in the registration form, please enquire if our practice list is full. If this is the case you will be asked for your details and given a letter advising you how to obtain an NHS GP.  

If our list is not full you can ask to make an appointment for a new patient medical. This medical is carried out by a health care assistant, so if you cannot keep your appointment please telephone to cancel, or rearrange it. This medical takes approximately half an hour.

Online 'Registration' With The Practice

If you wish to register online please click on the link below and enter your postcode to find a GP locally.  Select St Richard's Road Surgery from the list of local GP practices and complete the online registration form.  When you have completed all of the details, click on the "Send" button to mail your form to us. When you visit the surgery for the first time you may be asked to sign the form to confirm that the details are correct.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Practice Boundary

Our Practice Boundary shows the area within which we accept new patient registrations. 

Please note, currently registered patients who move outside our practice boundary will be required to re-register with another practice in their new area of residence.
