All consultations are made by appointment in order to reduce waiting times. Our appointment system offers 'On the day' appointments via a triage system for urgent matters and advance routine appointments.
Patients can express to see a doctor of their choice for advance routine appointments. If your preferred doctor is not available, you will be offered an appointment with the next available doctor.
To make an appointment you may telephone or call in at the surgery on weekdays 08:00 to 18:00 (Closed lunchtime 12:30 – 13:30).

Advance Book Appointments
Patients can book 10 minute face to face appointments or 5 minute telephone appointments up to 6 weeks in advance (4 weeks currently while we pilot the new system). Appointments can be booked online, by phone or in reception. As a general rule the Doctor is safely only able to deal with one medical problem in a single appointment slot.
On the Day Appointments
If you believe that you need to see a doctor on the same day, please phone the surgery and speak to one of our Receptionists who are trained to direct you to the best person to see. In order to assist you please be prepared to give an indication of the nature of the problem. Such information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
If you are booked on a Triage call with a doctor, the doctor will ring you back the same day. It may be possible for the problem to be resolved via a telephone consultation, if not an appointment will be booked for you on the same day or in advance as appropriate.
Alternatively you may be booked in for a nurse appointment or directed to an alternative community service e.g. community eye service or local dental service.
Minor Illness Clinic
Our Nurse Prescriber runs a clinic to help with minor illnesses such as:
- sore throats
- chest infections
- infected wounds
- urine infections
- minor accidents
- minor eye infections
Appointments for this clinic can be booked on the day by our Triage Clinicians or our Receptionists. In order for our Receptionists to assist you please be prepared to give an indication of the nature of the problem.

You are entitled to ask or arrange for a chaperone to be present during intimate examinations. You may either choose to ask a friend or relative to be present or ask the practice to provide a chaperone. Please ask in advance if you wish the practice to provide a chaperone.
Interpreting & Translation
Both language interpreters and interpreters for the deaf are available. As the arrangements can take time to set up, appointments will need to be booked in advance.
Our Lateness Policy
We recognise that it can occasionally be difficult to arrive on time for an appointment due to travelling difficulties.
However, if you are more than 10 minutes late you may not be able to be seen on that day and may be asked to make a new appointment.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
