Online consultation request

Improving Access to Care

As of Tuesday the 30th of May 2023 you are now able to submit online requests for appointments and administrative enquiries through the banner above (and through the NHS app shortly after).

These are for non-urgent appointment requests and routine administrative enquiries. As all enquiries will be viewed and actioned within 48 hours there will be a limited number of enquiries available between 8am-2pm Monday-Thursday.

Our hope is that by opening up another way to communicate with the surgery we will reduce wait times on the phone and make it easier to receive the care you require.

GP APPOINTMENTS, One Problem = One Appointment

Your GP/ANP appointment is 10 minutes. We want to make this 10 minutes as effective as possible so please only discuss one issue at each appointment.  If you have more than one problem, you must let the GP/ANP know so that you both can plan how to address these over the course of one or more appointments.

Please refer to the 'how to get the most out of your GP appointment' document below.

Making the most of your appointment

APPOINTMENTS AT THE SURGERY

Please consider whether your local pharmacy can help you with your problem before you call the surgery.

In addition to our GPs and ANPs, we have a large team of highly experienced nurses and health care assistants to provide good healthcare.

We also have a Minor Surgery Clinic.

Four ways to seek healthcare advice from your GP

  1. Call your surgery to arrange an appointment between 8am and 6.15pm. You will be offered a telephone appointment with the GP or ANP by a member of the Care Navigation Team; the clinician will then offer you a face-to-face appointment on the same day if clinically needed.
  2. Book online - for more information click HERE
  3. Download the NHS App to order repeat prescriptions and get health advice.
  4. For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice nhs.uk

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Our advanced nurse practitioners provide a daily telephone clinic.  They will telephone you to discuss your problem and if they are unable to help you over the telephone, they will book you an appointment either with the nurse prescriber, the GP or a practice nurse.  Our nurse practitioners can prescribe medication and issue a prescription if necessary.
