blood_pressure3We operate a call handling system for all our incoming telephone calls to both Crofton and Sharlston. All telephone calls are answered by Crofton reception.

Our telephone lines open at 08.00 for same day appointments. If you require an appointment that is not for the same day could you please phone after 10.00 when the phone lines are less busy.

Telephone before 10.00 where possible for Home Visits ( you will only get a home visit if the Triage nurse and doctor agrees there is a need for this)

If the doctor of your choice is not available you will be offered the earliest possible alternative.  Appointments can be pre-booked up to four weeks in advance for a GP and six weeks for a nurse.  Urgent cases will be seen on the same day.  Please inform us if you unable to attend you appointment.

To make sure that patients can see a GP or Nurse Prescriber as soon as possible, we have a percentage of our appointments that can be booked in advance. All other appointments will be available on the day. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment on the day you want to come if you don’t need a pre-booked appointment.

We have Nurse Prescribers trained in the diagnosis and treatment of many common illnesses and you may be offered an appointment with them. Please pick up an information leaflet from reception that explains the nurse Prescribers role.

Telephone Advice

If patients wish to speak to a nurse or a doctor on the telephone they can speak to the triage nurse, or reception staff will advise you on the best time for you to telephone and speak to a doctor. We also offer telephone slots where a GP will call you back at a mutually convenient time - Please speak to reception staff for further details.
