All Pharmacies & Surgeries are very busy due to increased workload from winter pressures and gaining stock from wholesalers is proving challenging. We suggest ordering no later than 19th December where possible.

It’s worrying when a child is unwell. ll. Fortunately, you can treat many children’s illnesses at home. Your local NHS has produced a free Children’s Health Matters guide which is packed with expert advice and guidance on what to do when your child is unwell. It explains how to treat children at home, when to see a GP or call 111, and when you should seek emergency help because symptoms are more serious. CHIP 

MSE ICB is offering free patient registration onto a programme called CHIP: Complete Health Improvement Programme.

 

It is an empowering 10-week educational course delivered via weekly online trainings and interactive Q&A sessions by healthcare professionals with expertise in lifestyle medicine. CHIP supports you to make changes to the way we eat, sleep, move and relax. These changes have been shown to improve health and, in some cases, put long term conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes into remission.

 

This is a great alternative to some of the other educational offers in MSE and patients can register their interest simply by contacting the Essex Wellbeing Service on 0300 303 9951 and quoting code CHIP 2022

 

The eligibility criteria is:

 

  1. you are 18 or over
  2. are currently on medication for Type 2 diabetes
  3. have access to the internet and an IT device for watching videos completing forms, joining Zoom calls
  4. motivated to change your diet and lifestyle to feel healthier and happier

Free Christmas events in Maldon district  

 

Christmas lunch at ELIM Pentecostal Church  

 

Christmas Lunch is available on Christmas Day in the Elim Pentecostal Church starting at 12pm. The lunch is for anyone who will be on their own on Christmas day or for those who cannot afford a proper Christmas meal. 
Booking is essential for catering purposes. Please get in touch to make your booking.

Nativity service Salvation Army 

The Salvation Army in Maldon, 12 Wantz Road, Maldon, CM9 5DE have a Pop-up nativity service on Sunday 18th December at 10:30. They will have costumes available so if people want to come along and take part in a nativity play (no rehearsal needed) and sing some carols everyone can join in. 

 

Christmas dinner at URC Burnham on Crouch  

The URC in Burnham on Crouch are offering a free Christmas dinner on Christmas day for anyone who is either going to be alone or unable to provide a meal for their family. 11.30am-5pm lunch will be served at 12.30pm. People need to try and book by calling or texting 07712615739 or email burnhamxmasdinner@gmail.com. Everyone is welcome though so if you haven’t managed to book then please do turn up.  

 

Warm and Toastie group at St Leonards Southminster 

St Leonards in Southminster has free Warm & Toastie offerings every Sunday 12.30pm - 2.30pm open to all, free hot toasted sandwich, and drinks.
