CORONAVIRUS

The NHS in Ashford and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.

The risk to the general public is high. If you have a temperature and/or a new dry cough and/or have been in direct contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus:

DO NOT PRESENT AT THE SURGERY/PHARMACY/A&E instead go to https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

Only call 111 if you cannot manage your symptoms at home

COVID-19 Vaccination Programme - Scam Calls

We have received reports of scam calls and texts relating to the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.

Scammers are calling home phones and sending text messages to mobile phones which contain misinformation or could leave you out of pocket if you fall victim.

Some calls and texts claim to be from the Government, your GP surgery, the NHS, or even the World Health Organisation (WHO). These calls, however, are designed to encourage you to either speak to an operator, or press a button on your phone for more information.

If you speak to an operator you could be at risk of giving them your personal information or your financial details which could result in identity theft or financial loss.

If you press a button on your phone you could be connected to a high-cost premium number leaving you liable for a significant call cost.

We will advise you when we will start inviting our next Group of patients for their COVID-19 vaccination via our website and Facebook page. We also plan to use text message invitations where possible in the future.

Please note: at the present time lack of vaccine supplies is slowing down our ability to invite patients to have the vaccination.
