Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance

Any form of violence against staff working in the NHS is unacceptable.  It therefore operates a Zero Tolerance Policy across the NHS as a whole.  A Zero Tolerance Policy acknowledges that aggressive, violent and threatening behaviour does not go with the job and will not be tolerated.

Violence against staff is a crime and individuals behaving violently or aggressively towards staff will be reported to the police.

Physical violence and verbal abuse are a growing concern.  GPs, practice nurses and other practice Staff have the right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused.  We ask that you treat your GP and other practice Staff properly – without violence or abuse.

As part of our adherence to the NHS Zero Tolerance policy, this practice reserves the right to remove from its Register, any patient who is violent, aggressive, abusive or shows threatening behaviour to any member of its staff.

If you would like more information about the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy, please go to the NHS website at http://www.nhs.uk/zerotolerance.
