Less Than Full Time (LTFT) training is offered by Health Education East Midlands. It is available at 50% for ST1/ST2 GP placements and all hospital posts. There has to be a post vacant that could accommodate LTFT working and may need a job-share in hospital posts. GP placements in ST3 can be at 60%.
You can request LTFT training only if you are: caring for young children; caring for dependent relatives or for health reasons.
If you wish to apply to work less than fulltime email the programme office or your year PD.
If your application for LTFT working is successful, remember that your total ST year e-portfolio and evidence requirements stay the same but is just spread over a longer period of time (eg 2 years for 50% LTFT instead of 1 year). If you have had a career break too, your ESR dates and ARCP panel dates can become complicated and out of sync. Please make sure you are aware of when these are and check with a programme director if you are not sure.
