CLINICAL COMMISSIONING
As you may have heard within the Press GPs are to be responsible for managing their own budgets as from April 1st 2013, this will mean the end of Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). The idea behind this is to both save money and develop services more local to patients, thus improving the whole health experience for patients.
The doctors within our area have formed a group called the
'South East Hampshire Clinical Group' (CCG)
South Eastern Hampshire CCG has:
- 26 constituent member GP practices
- A budget of £200 million for 2013/14 covering services at acute hospitals, community services and prescribing services
- An area of 150 square miles (390 square kms)
Services provided by eight providers:
- Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
- Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust
- Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- West Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust
- Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
- Solent NHS Trust
- South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust
- Care UK (Out of Hours)
