This free text messaging helpline is a private, silent and trusted way for anyone experiencing mental health challenges to find a safe space to seek help and support. You can send a text message any time of day or night wherever you are – every conversation is with a human being.

It’s easy to use

  • You don’t need an app or data
  • There’s no registration process
  • It’s silent and won’t appear on your phone bill
  • Confidential and anonymous.

It’s provided by trained volunteer staff supported by clinical supervisors

The NHS 111 Service: You can dial 111 for advice and support about what to do in a mental health crisis and they will direct you to the most helpful service.

SANE:  runs a national, out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support to anyone affected by mental illness, including friends, family and carers. Open every day of the year from 4.30pm – 10.30pm. 0300 304 700 (local rate)

Calm: Offering support to men of any age, who are in crisis via their helpline, webchat and website. 5pm – midnight 365 days a year. 0800 58 58 58. Web – www.thecalmzone.net
