Our Patient Participation Groups

Filey Surgery have 2 levels of patient participation dependant on how involved you are able to be with the surgery:

Option 1: Virtual Patient Group/Community Voices

This option would be relevant to those patients who would like to be involved but may not be able to commit the time needed to attend meetings. Your input still matters very much to us so if you are willing on occasion to be contacted for your opinion or participation in short questionnaires that may be asked for from time to time via email please click the link below to fill in the Community Voices/VPG application form.

Option 2: Patient Participation Group

This option is an option to become a member of the group who will meet roughly once quarterly to review, discuss and effect improvements to Filey Surgery services. This group will feed into Community Voices and possibly seek their further input into suggestions they have for changes. They may in the future become involved in practice patient initiatives and possibly some light fundraising. This group is intended to represent as broader spectrum of our patient base here at Filey Surgery in the hope we can seek the opinions of a good cross section. Membership to this group is limited. Both groups will form an important role in informing, supporting and developing the practice services.

The overall aim of both of our groups is to develop a positive and constructive relationship between patients, the practice and the community it serves, ensuring the practice remains accountable and responsive to all its patients needs.

Our groups key roles are:-

Create and improve two-way communication between patients, the practice and the community it serves.

Provide an avenue for patients’ input in the way facilities and services are planned and executed, to add humanity to, and influence those services.

Collect patient opinions and experiences to help the practice to evaluate its services.
