CORONAVIRUS

The NHS in Ashford and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.

The risk to the general public is high. If you have a temperature and/or a new dry cough and/or have been in direct contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus:

DO NOT PRESENT AT THE SURGERY/PHARMACY/A&E instead go to https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

Only call 111 if you cannot manage your symptoms at home

Named Accountable GP for all Patients

You may be aware that all GP Practices are now required to provide their patients with a 'named, accountable GP'.

As stated on the BMA website:

The contract requires the named accountable GP to take responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contract and ensure that they are delivered to each of their patients where required (based on the clinical judgement of the named accountable GP).

All of our patients at Kingsnorth Medical Practice, including children, now have a named GP who is responsible for their overall care.  Patients will be notified when they contact the Practice, during consultations and on repeat medication slips.

Please note that this does NOT prevent you from seeing any GP of your choice in the practice as you currently do now, and you are unlikely to see any notable change in the way care is delivered to you by us.
