Travel Immunisations
We offer nurse appointments slots for travel immunisations. Please allow sufficient time to get these organised before your trip as appointments may not be available at short notice. Please note that we are not a Yellow Fever centre and cannot administer this vaccination.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. What travel vaccines will I need?

What travel vaccines have I had?
If you are unsure what travel vaccines you have had, please ask our reception staff to print off your travel immunisations record for you to collect.
Are my vaccines up to date?
Travel vaccines are usually only valid for a certain length of time. Please see below for how long your vaccine is valid. After this time has elapsed, you will require a booster:
Vaccine Valid for
Oral typhoid 1 year
Typhoid injection 3 years
Diphtheria, tetanus and polio 10 years
Yellow fever 10 years
1x hepatitis A 1 year
2 x hepatitis A vaccines 25 years from the date of the last
Hepatitis B – 3 given over a month 1 year (otherwise 5 years)
- 4 given in total 5 years
- 5 given in total lifetime cover
Rabies - 3 given 1 year

(Typhoid vaccine availability is restricted and may not be available from month to month due to manufacturing problems)
Do I pay for these?
No
Do you prescribe malaria tablets (malarone/doxycycline or mefloquine)?
Malaria tablets are prescribed privately. We do not charge for these private prescriptions. However, you will be charged a fee by the chemist for the medication.

Japanese encephalitis
Rabies
Meningitis ACWY
