Our next half day closure is Thursday 24th September 2020 when we close at 2.00pm for training purposes. If you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please dial 111 to be directed to the local service that can help you best.

Medical Training

Medical students and nursing students attend the practice from time to time.  We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.

Since August 2011 we have welcomed Foundation Year 2 (FY2) doctors to train at the practice. Foundation doctors are fully qualified doctors who are working in general practice for four months before they begin their further specialist postgraduate training.

Dr Sellens, Dr Rafiq and the other doctors at the practice will be working closely with the Foundation doctors during their placement with the surgery.  The Foundation doctor will see patients in the newly built consulting room and his or her appointments will be in addition to those already offered by the other doctors.

Foundation Doctor placement dates at Bridge Surgery:

Dr Miriam Masaud ('Dr Miriam') - 10/08/11 to 06/12/11

Dr Anupa Shah - 07/12/11 to 03/04/12

Dr Venugopal Vijay - 04/04/12 - 31/07/12
