Pregnancy Care

 IMPORTANT

Whooping cough vaccination

Until babies are old enough to get their vaccinations (2 months) they are at risk of getting this serious disease which can lead to pneumonia, permanent brain damage or even death.

You can protect your baby from getting whooping cough by having the whooping cough vaccination while you are pregnant. (You should have the vaccination even if you've been vaccinated before or have had whooping cough yourself.) The best time to have this vaccination is once you are 28 weeks pregnant - but you can have it between week 28 to 38.

Your baby will still need to be vaccinated as normal when he/she is 2 months old.

Please make sure you inform us when you are pregnant. That way we can remind you to come in for your vaccination once you are 28 weeks pregnant.

Flu vaccination

It is recommended that women in any stage of their pregnancy have the flu jab. This is to protect you from catching flu and developing serious complications which could affect your pregnancy.
