Travel Vaccinations

global air travel

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

NOTE: It is important to complete the Travel Health Questionnaire as early as possible  - at least 8 weeks before you travel - as some of the vaccinations are courses of three and have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Short notice travel - the Surgery may not be able to assist and will provide you with the details of local MASTA Travel Clinics to obtain your vaccinations and advice. The Practice Nurse will print out a copy of your vaccination history for you to take with you. Locally Boots, Northgate Retail Park, Newark 01636 605405 and Evans, 33 Kirkgate, Newark 01636 703722 may be able to assist or we have more extensive lists available on demand.

To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the Travel Form that can be obtained from the Practice and hand into the Surgery before coming to see the nurse (Please give the nurse 10 days to check the form).
