Welcome to Whitefield Health Care
“We are aware of the difficulties that some of our patients are experiencing in getting through to the practice on the telephone. We do apologise and we are working hard to resolve this with our IT/telephone supplier. We are aware that during peak periods, for example, Monday mornings, phone lines tend to be by far the busiest. Practices in Pennine Lancashire are working with the supplier to migrate away from what was an old system to a new one and this work will conclude in early June. This new system has additional capacity for practices when they are experiencing a high volume of calls. We will keep patients up to date with this and in the meantime ask patients to bear with us, particularly during peak periods”

For general information on coronavirus please use the link below
If you have any concerns about possible symptoms from or exposure to coronavirus, the current Public Health England Guidance is to use the NHS 111 online service which has created pages to advise you what you should do for your particular circumstances.
These can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19
Please do not attend the surgery.
Whitefield Health Care would like to invite you to join DoctorLink.
We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice Services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can:
- Access advice
- Book appointments online
- Request repeat prescriptions
Sign-up is simple and you can create an account here
For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink. The symptom assessment will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem. The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care. If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required at the practice, you simply click on the 'request an appointment' button. Once your request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team(where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.

All patients have a named, accountable GP who is responsible for the patients' overall care at the Practice. Your named GP has been allocated to you by the Practice and is displayed on your repeat prescription (if you have one). If you wish to know who your allocated GP is please ask us. You can still make appointments with any of the GPs.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE LINK TO REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT AS IT DOES NOT WORK
