Welcome to Dove River Practice online. We are a two partner practice, currently providing General Medical services to over 8,500 patients across East Staffordshire. We are proud to offer the highest standard of healthcare to our patients. We seek to achieve a friendly, approachable atmosphere and maintain the core values of a traditional General Practice.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension and COPD. We offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood immunisations and well person checks.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will find a wealth of health related information on our web site, such as our practice opening times, latest surgery news, how to register to our online services and feedback from our Patient Participation Group.  Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

NHS England MMR vaccine messages update

We are aware that text messages have gone out from NHS England regarding MMR vaccine status of children. From the initial enquiries we have had the medical records are in fact up to date and children are fully vaccinated. If you have a query about this please can we ask you to email rather  call, allowing patients with urgent medical needs to still get through to us. Please email and we will look into the records and confirm back to you, we are aware this may be causing concern.

Information Regarding Strep-A

We have seen a huge increase in worried parents calling the Surgery, accessing 111 and emergency departments. This is understandable given the circumstances, and we want to ensure that you our patients have the correct information as soon as possible, provided by trusted voices, to allay fears but also to explain what to do if you are concerned. The below links are a good source of information which may help answer questions from parents. Most strep A infections are mild and easily treated, but some are more serious. Visit the NHS website to learn more about symptoms to look out for, when to seek medical help and what to do in an emergency;

Anyone using a service should be able to give feedback to the provider of that service. The NHS FFT is designed to be a quick and simple mechanism for patients and other people who use NHS services to give feedback, which can then be used to identify what is working well and to improve the quality of any aspect of patient experience.

Please use this link if you wish to provide feedback on a recent appointment or interaction with the Surgery;

Your feedback helps make care better

CQC use what people tell them to understand the quality of care they get from services like care homes, care agencies, hospitals and GPs. It helps make care better for everybody.

It is looked at alongside other information. For example, information from the service itself or what CQC found when they last visited.
