22,759 APPOINTMENTS - OF THESE 46% WERE FACE TO FACE
24.9% OF THESE APPOINTMENTS WERE BOOKED ON THE DAY.
We hope that these figures will dispel any perception that we are not working and are not seeing patients at the surgery.
We have put processes in place to keep patients and staff as safe as possible.
DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS AND TELEPHONE TRIAGE - a doctor will speak to you initially by phone or video but they WILL MAKE YOU A FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENT if this is the most appropriate way to deal with your issue or if this is your preferred option, this is in line with NHS guidance and is designed to keep patients and staff safe.
WAITING TIMES ON THE PHONE - There are several reasons why the phones are so busy at the moment. We have carried out almost 3,400 Covid vaccinations at the practice and have expanded routine blood test appointments to enable us to ensure that patients are up to date with their annual reviews. A lot of these patients have been asked to call us back to book their review appointment which has meant an increase in the number of calls coming into the surgery. These are calls that are important and can’t be avoided but do increase the call volume into the surgery.
PLEASE TREAT OUR STAFF AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED – staff are doing their very best to help in what is a difficult time for everyone; please think about how you speak to our staff who are working extremely hard to deal with an very high number of calls throughout the day. Staff have sadly experienced a lot of verbal abuse and aggression from a number of callers over the last few months, they do try hard to be as helpful as possible and really do not deserve to be treated in this way. We ask that when you call or email the surgery, you do so in a kind and respectful way, as so many of you have continued to do, and consider the impact your contact will have on our staff members.
We recognise that this is a very difficult time for people, especially those needing to access health and social care. For a year now, we have worked continuously to provide the best possible healthcare and support to our patients, within the ever changing constraints of public health guidance, which is in place to keep everyone safe from the risks of COVID 19.

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS app.
Alternatively you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17th May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you've completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may take up to 5 days to reach you.
