Due to Medwyn medical practice reaching patient capacity our registration list has been closed from the 12th November 2023 to all new patients.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM.

We are trialing a new appointment system, this is due to staff sickness and patients not attending for pre booked appointments.

We have changed the way for you to call for an appointment, Please call between 08:00-10:00. You will be asked for information regarding your illness, this has been requested by a GP. Our Care Navigators' have been trained on what to ask. Please be kind as we need this information to pass through our Triage system to make sure you are allocated the correct Clinicians.

If you feel your call is more urgent you can call in between times but the clinicians would expect these calls to be urgent.

We have a zero tolerance policy at our Surgery. Please be patient.

The Practice
Medwyn Medical Practice was established in November 2013 as a result of the merger of the Carnwath and Carstairs Practices.

We are a  GP practice offering primary medical services to the Carnwath and Carstairs communities as well as the wider practice area which is bounded by a line drawn between and including Biggar, Elsrickle, Forth and back to Biggar.

There are two surgeries, located in Carnwath and Carstairs providing services to around 6,000 patients.
