BSW CCG Email for Vaccination Enquiries from the Public
The CCG have set up an email for enquiries from the public about the COVID vaccination.
If you are concerned or have any questions that you would like answered, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please be aware that your GP surgery is unable to offer or provide you with a certificate for your covid vaccination, a vaccination passport or a letter to prove that you have been vaccinated against covid-19.

COVID Vaccine Patient Update
Coronavirus Vaccine – Message to Patients
Following the latest news regarding the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine please see a government response below.
MHRA response to the precautionary suspensions of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca
It has not been confirmed that the reports of blood clots were caused by the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. People should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so.
Dr Phil Bryan, MHRA Vaccines Safety Lead said:
We are closely reviewing reports but the evidence available does not suggest the vaccine is the cause.
Blood clots can occur naturally and are not uncommon. More than 11 million doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca have now been administered across the UK, and the number of blood clots reported after having the vaccine is not greater than the number that would have occurred naturally in the vaccinated population.
We are working closely with international counterparts in understanding the global safety experience of COVID-19 vaccines and on the rapid sharing of safety data and reports.
People should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so.
Patients living in Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire who are eligible for the coronavirus vaccine should wait to be contacted by their GP practice, instead of calling their surgery.
Giffords are aware of the patients who need this vaccine and these patients will be contacted in line with government guidance. The rollout of this vaccine programme is a huge logistical challenge and the process of administering to the millions of people who need it will be another challenge in itself.
Please be reassured that Giffords Surgery will contact you, either by telephone, sms or letter when vaccination deliveries are received.
The Covid vaccination programme is moving very fast and guidance changes daily. As soon as we have more information, we will announce it on our website or Facebook page.
More information on the vaccine can be found online at www.nhs.uk
We are Searching for Volunteers
Melksham and Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network
URGENT APPEAL FOR PEOPLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO A POTENTIAL COVID VACCINATION PROGRAMME
Several potential COVID vaccinations are in the later stages of phase 111 trials. General Practice has an important role in setting up a local vaccination programme. To ensure that we can still deliver the full range of primary care health services, we asking the public to help us.
The three practices who form the Melksham and Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network: Bradford on Avon & Melksham Health Partnership, Giffords Surgery and Spa Medical Practice are working together to deploy the COVID vaccine as soon as it is available.
We are being asked by NHS England to set up a local vaccination centre in our locality. This centre will need to be available 8am-8pm 7 days a week. Logistics mean that we will only have a short window to deliver the vaccines. We will then continue to have regular deliveries on a weekly basis.
We are searching for people who would be prepared to be trained to deliver the vaccine, as well as volunteers who are able to help with the clinics, offering support to the clinical team and provide marshalling roles.
In the first instance please send your name and contact details to:
Email address: email@example.com and we will contact you with further information.
This is a hugely important challenge and we wish to offer our sincerest thanks in anticipation of your support to help us deliver this programme.
