WE HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT OUR DELIVERY OF FLU VACCINE HAS BEEN DELAYED BY UP TO TWO WEEKS.
THEREFORE ALL PATIENTS WITH AN APPOINTMENT ON SATURDAY 18th SEPTEMBER SHOULD ATTEND ON SATURDAY 2nd OCTOBER INSTEAD. THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL REMAIN THE SAME.

Please note that we will not be making bookings for appointments on any other dates until our delivery is confirmed, but we can add your name to a waiting list and will contact you once we have more information.

If you are aged 50 or over on 31st March 2022 or in a risk group due to a medical condition, you are eligible for a flu vaccination at the surgery this year.

What restrictions will look like at Ampleforth & Hovingham Surgeries after 19th July 2021
For the time being there will be no changes here at the practice. Patients coming to the surgery will still need to wear a mask, use the hand sanitiser, and socially distance. Our staff will continue to wear appropriate PPE and medications will still need to be collected from Ampleforth Surgery or delivered.
We have made this decision as often patients coming to the surgery are sick, vulnerable, and maybe unvaccinated due to medical reasons, so we feel that these precautions will help to protect everyone. We also need to minimise the number of our staff catching Covid so we can keep a functioning service, so for this reason alone, these measures are vital.
Our consultations will continue, these might be offered face to face, by phone, or by video. It is worth noting that we are consulting with higher numbers of patients than we ever did before the pandemic, whilst also playing a big part in the vaccination programme too. Our doors are open but just in a different way.
We hope you will understand why we need to continue with these measures and keep the surgery as safe for everyone as we can. We have all come so far in trying to minimise the impact of Covid, let’s continue to stay safe together.
Covid-19 Vaccination Status
Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS App, and you will not need access to your Detailed Coded Record in order to view your vaccinations on the NHS App after this date. Please note that we are unable to issue vaccination status certificates at the practice.
The NHS App can be downloaded from https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nhs-app/id1388411277 for iPhone or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhs.online.nhsonline for android. Alternatively, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 from 17th May and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine, and the letter may to take up to 5 days to reach you. Ampleforth Surgery has ramp access from the car park at the front of the surgery. Hovingham Surgery offers parking right outside the door on a flat surface which you may find easier.
