COVID vaccination update 17th March 2021
In the UK 2 types of COVID-19 vaccine are being currently used. Both require 2 doses to provide the best protection and have been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials.
Response to COVID-19 Vaccine Oxford-AstraZeneca media reports
The UK Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, which is responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are acceptably safe, have said that evidence DOES NOT suggest that the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab is linked to blood clots.
People should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so.

We are currently delivering the covid vaccination programme in collaboration with other GP practices within our Primary Care Network (PCN). All patients identified in line with Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) guidance will be offered an appointment.
We know patients are very keen to have their COVID vaccine and for convenience it may be easier for you to have this within the surgery. We are currently working through the NHS approved cohorts, please do not contact the surgery, we will be in contact with you when the time is right for you to be invited for your vaccine.
Patients who have already had their first vaccine dose between the dates of 18th January 2021 and 27th February 2021 will be contacted to confirm the date/time of your second dose appointment. All patients who attended vaccination clinics after the 27th February have already been issued with the second dose information on your appointment card, if you have any queries please contact us.
Individuals displaying COVID-19 symptoms should arrange a COVID test via gov.uk and stay at home along with all other household members (self-isolate) for 10 days.
NOTE: We cannot test for COVID 19.
