Reception Signposting
Reception will be following a new signposting process which has been designed by the GP's. All receptionists have been trained to use this so will all be following the guidelines provided in the new signposting process.
To enable you to see what sort of things you are likely to be asked as a result of this new system we have attached a copy of the new process. You will be able to see this if you click on 'Appointments' above and then click 'Reception Signposting'
It is hoped that by sharing this with you all, you will have a better understanding of how the GP's work and the things they have asked the reception staff to ask. Please don't worry about answering the receptionists questions, they are bound by the same rule of confidentiality as the GP's and ALL breaches are taken extremely seriously.
Wasted Appointments for October 2023
During the month of October there were 191 wasted appointments!!
This equates to 46.5 hours of lost clinical time. 46.5 hours of appointments which could have been taken by patients who needed an appointment but were unable to secure one.
If you don't need your booked appointment, it is important that you cancel it so it can be offered to someone else. Our practice, like countless others up and down the country, is seeing an unprecedented level of demand on our services and wasted appointments like this only serve to increased waiting times for our patients.

GP Earnings
“The average pay for GPs working in the Linden Medical Group in the last financial year was £76,507 before tax and national insurance. This is for 3 full-time GPs and 3 part-time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months
It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, it should not be used to form any judgment about GP earnings, nor to make a comparison with any other practice.
In view of the fact that there are few hard and fast guidelines in place, we must issue a disclaimer against any actions which may or may not be taken with regard to the publication of this information.”
