Baby Clinic
Dr Lowe and the health visitors are responsible for the eight-week baby developmental checks and first immunisations. The clinic also allows an opportunity to discuss other relevant problems e.g. sleeping, feeding and child health worries.
Follow-up immunisation clinics
These are run by our practice nurses by appointment, usually on a Tuesday. These will be issued by invitation from the Immunisation Clerk.
Asthma and COPD clinic
This is a weekly clinic run by a practice nurse trained in asthma management. Monitoring of asthma/COPD drugs is carried out as well as inhalation techniques, peak flow readings and spirometry if required. Please make an appointment through the receptionist.
Diabetic Clinic
This is a weekly clinic run by a practice nurse trained in diabetic management. In the clinic, the results of your routine blood tests will be available for discussion, urine and blood pressure tests are undertaken, and diet and lifestyle advice given. You will be contacted by the practice during the month of your birthday to make two appointments - the first for your blood tests and the second approximately one week later for your appointment with the nurse. Please make your appointments through the receptionists.
Blood pressure review clinics
Patients on medication for raised blood pressure (hypertension) should see the practice nurse and doctor (on an alternate basis) every six months, once the medication is controlling the blood pressure. Please make an appointment through the receptionist or, alternatively, make your appointment with the healthcare assistant.
Cervical Smears
Please book an appointment to see the practice nurse through the receptionist.
New Patient Screening Clinic
All new patients who register with our practice need to attend for blood pressure and urine screening, height and weight checks and alcohol and smoking status. Please make an appointment with the treatment room receptionist for a new patient screen when first joining the practice.
Contraceptive Advice
Our Practice Nurse Alison Draper can see patients who need advice about contraception. Please ask at Reception for details.
Vaccination Clinics
These are run by our practice nurses by appointment only. The clinics are held in the nurses' treatment room. Please make an appointment through reception.
Child Vaccinations
All the recommended vaccines are given from two months of age until school leaving age. (The first vaccination is given at the eight-week baby clinic.)
Flu Vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung, kidney disease or diabetes and residents of nursing and residential homes. This vaccination is also recommended for all patients aged 65 years and over. From September each year, details of vaccination dates and appointments can be obtained from reception staff.
Pneumococcal Vaccination
This is available all the year round for patients with chronic breathing and heart problems, those who have had splenectomies and other at-risk patients.
Antenatal Clinic
The midwives are available for the antenatal clinic on Wednesdays.
Wellbeing and Self-care Service
The Wellbeing and Self Care Service provides a community link, self care and engagement service. It supports patients with:
- Long term conditions e.g hypertension, anxiety, depression, asthma, obesity and diabetes.
- Lifestyle issues e.g diet, physical activity, weight management.
- Loneliness/ social isolation.
- Caring issues.

First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP)
FCP service aims to alleviate pressure on GP appointments whilst allowing early access to Physiotherapy assessment and management of soft tissue, muscle and joint conditions. Please note, this service is for those aged 18 and over.
This service aims to:
- Provide a specialist expert assessment and guidance on self-management.
- Achieve early intervention of care to promote health and return to work.
- Manage an individual's journey to other services.
- Provide improved healthcare choice and satisfaction for residents of Stockport.
Please contact our Reception to arrange an appointment in our First Contact Physiotherapy Clinic. These clinics are currently only held on a Monday.
Dressing Clinic
This service is for all Leg ulcer dressings, removal of sutures, dressings and change of dressings, that have been applied following a hospital procedure. This is by appointment only.
