Ear syringing

People suffering from a build up of ear wax are not entitled to have their ears syringed on the NHS in England.  Therefore from 4th March 2022 this service will no longer be available at the practice.

Clinics and services

We offer the full range of Primary Care medical services, including contraceptive services.

The Nurse sees patients by booked appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings 8:30am to 12:30pm, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday  3:30-6:30pm, for: ECG’s, injections, wound dressings, smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, spirometry, heath checks, childhood vaccinations, contraception checks, smear tests, chronic disease appointments for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease and heart/stroke disease.

Our Health care assistant, Jayne Hemsley, sees patients by booked appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings: for blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECG's,  simple dressings, vitamin B12 injections and support to stop smoking.

Our Phlebotomist, Becky Jones, see patients by booked appointment on Monday mornings for blood tests, blood pressure checks and ECG's.

The district nursing team attached to the practice is based at the Westgate Centre and provide nursing care to housebound patients.

The Health Visiting team attached to the practice can be contacted on 01454 338809. The Health Visitors run Drop–in clinics which are currently held at various venues in Yate. Details can be obtained from the Health Visitors or from surgery reception.

Midwives - If you are newly pregnant you DO NOT need to see a doctor. Instead please go to  www.nbt.nhs.uk/anb to arrange your first midwife appointment. If you do not have internet access call 0117 4146743 and leave a message. To contact the community midwife team after your initial booking appointment The Yate Community Midwives can be contacted on 01454 315355, option 3. Ante–natal clinics are held at the Westgate Centre in Yate.

North Yate Pharmacy is housed in our premises. When we are both open the pharmacy is accessible through the practice.
