Essential Services: As defined in the new Standard General Medical Services contract: ”Services required for the management of …registered patients…who are, or believe themselves to be ill with conditions from which recovery is generally expected; terminally ill; or suffering from chronic disease. Appropriate ongoing treatment and care…health promotion advice and the referral of the patient for other services” (Clause 47)
Additional Services: cervical screening, contraceptive services, vaccinations and immunisations, child health surveillance, maternity services & some minor surgery procedures.
Enhanced Services: flu and pneumonia vaccinations, shingles injections, minor surgery, childhood immunisations, coil fitting, contraceptive implants, treatment of minor injuries, anti-coagulation monitoring as well as a number of other services.
In addition to the doctors and practice nurses there are other healthcare professionals who come in at regular times during the week in order to care for our patients.
The Midwife runs two clinics a week at the surgery. We have a Practice Pharmacist attached to the surgery.
